Bulgaria’s President Receives EOA Award “Offshoring Destination of the Year“ 2015 at Official Ceremony from Bulgarian Outsourcing Association

SOFIA (Bulgaria), Oct 15, 2015 -- Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev accepted the OA Award “Offshoring Destination of the Year“ for 2015 at an official ceremony from the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bulgarian Outsourcing Association Stefan Bumov as a recognition of the joint efforts of Bulgaria’s government and the business for the development of the outsourcing sector in the country.

"I am proud that today Bulgaria is recognised as the best outsourcing destination for 2015," said President Plevneliev. The President stressed that transforming the sector into one of the fastest growing in the Bulgarian economy in recent years is an achievement of the Bulgarian entrepreneurs, innovators, developers, companies and young people who see their perspective and growth in Bulgaria. The outsourcing industry builds the success of the Bulgarian economy, President Plevneliev said.

According to the latest industry report released by the Bulgarian Outsourcing Association the industry employs more than 35,000 specialists to date in 2015. The number is expected to grow to 60,000 in 2020. The annual turnover of the outsourcing sector is currently estimated at around 1 billion euro and is expected to double by 2020, said President Plevneliev.

The EOA Awards recognize for a sixth consecutive the efforts of the countries and companies who have demonstrated best-practice in pan-European outsourcing. Bulgaria was shortlisted and won the award in competition with Latvia and South Africa.
